The Vice President of Innovation leads Lightcast’s public outreach of market research and data, positioning the company as a global thought leader in labor market analytics. This role combines expertise in data science, storytelling, public speaking, and network development.
As the company evangelist, you will create and present innovative research that addresses key challenges in the future of work, showcasing how Lightcast’s solutions can meet customer needs. You’ll represent Lightcast at conferences and events, share in-depth labor market data, build strategic relationships, drive internal innovation, and identify new business opportunities.

Thought Leadership:

  • Ideate, develop, and execute groundbreaking initiatives that advance Lightcast’s mission across global audiences in enterprise, education, and government sectors.
  • Lead the creation of impactful data analysis, research, and solutions that strategically align with Lightcast’s priorities.
  • Translate Lightcast’s data into compelling messages and support broader communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Act as an external-facing expert, disseminating Lightcast’s work through media, blog posts, podcasts, and social media.
  • Represent Lightcast at conferences, advisory committees, and forums to engage with key industry players and stay updated on labor market trends.

Strategy and Business Development:

  • Develop and implement strategies that advance Lightcast’s leadership position in labor market analytics.
  • Cultivate and deepen key relationships across enterprises, universities, governments, and nonprofits, identifying opportunities for collaboration and business growth.
  • Present Lightcast’s thought leadership to stakeholders including enterprises, policymakers, and implementers.
  • Support business development by contributing to pitch decks and presenting to prospective clients.
  • Partner with GTM teams and manage highly complex projects and relationships.
  • Innovate by developing new frameworks, methodologies, and analytics, incorporating feedback from market engagement into product development.

Departmental Management and Capacity Building:

  • Lead and manage the innovation team, collaborating deeply with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee essential senior management functions, such as team hiring, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Enhance staff expertise in key research areas through structured processes.

Presence & Travel:

  • This is a remote role within the U.S., with travel expectations of approximately once per month.
  • Additional travel may be required for specific campaigns or events.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Expertise in data science and labor market analytics is highly preferred.
  • Proven thought leadership experience: publishing research, public speaking, and translating data into compelling insights.
  • Strong strategic and business development skills, with experience in building partnerships across enterprises, universities, and governments.
  • Team leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  • Experience in public engagement, including media, social media, and conference presentations.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work remotely.
