As the Manager of the Strategic Initiatives team, you will report to the SVP and support the founders in quantitatively analyzing and helping to craft go-to-market (“GTM””) strategies, creating financial models and presentations for new GTM initiatives, and supporting accelerating the leadership team to make decisions through quantitative research and analysis..

You will be responsible for supporting and quantitatively driving strategic initiatives to propel the growth and expansion of Alpaca. You will play a crucial role in supporting & developing a business case and developing & analyzing GTM strategies. You will partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and finance, to ensure coordinated efforts toward growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Development:
    • Develop and quantitatively present business cases & strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and long-term vision.
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, and present them with key metrics analytically
    • Manage the identification, setup, monitoring, and reporting of success metrics for key initiatives, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations.
    • Collaborate with the executive team to define strategic priorities and create GTM action plans, including market analysis, threat identification, and resource allocation.
    • Help develop GTM playbooks & supporting assets for new products, services, geographies, or segments through market research and logical segmentation
    • Help negotiate and finalize partnership and joint venture agreements with external parties to drive mutual value and growth.
  2. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Develop detailed strategies, and GTM plans that contribute to the overall corporate strategy and support board reporting.
    • Synthesize and distill key financial and business insights for leadership, including analysis of results, business KPIs, risk assessment, and timely communication of risks and opportunities.

 

You will need these skills and experiences to be qualified for this role:

  • 3+ years of investment banking and/or strategic consulting experience with highly analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Extremely strong in excel, analytical reporting, and clear/crips communication skills
  • Well-developed judgment, management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to deal effectively with a rapidly changing, complex business environment.
  • Good project/time management skills to manage multi-functional accountabilities through prioritization, delegation, motivation, conflict resolution, and the promotion of ideas.
  • Degree in Strategy, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a quantitative discipline. Coding skills or CFA would be an asset.
