Acentra is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Test Architect to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
As a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Test Architect Principal, you will play a pivotal role shaping the strategic direction of our SQA team. You will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge test strategies and frameworks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions for our clients.. In this critical role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, project management, operations, and business analysts, to define and execute robust testing processes that align with business objectives and project timelines.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the business development team to contribute to RFP responses and design testing approaches that demonstrate the value of our solutions to clients. Your expertise in delivering quality software and your ability to drive testing excellence will make a direct impact on both our projects and client satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define and establish comprehensive test strategies, including automation, performance, and security testing, ensuring coverage across all layers of the application (UI, API, database).
- Architect and implement scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks that seamlessly integrate with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Evaluate, select, and implement industry-leading testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies. Mentor test engineers to ensure best practices are followed and automation processes are optimized.
- Lead initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, increase test coverage, and improve quality metrics by introducing new methodologies, such as BDD and TDD, and integrating cutting-edge tools and technologies.
- Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and SQA teams to ensure alignment on testing strategies and approaches.
- Design and implement performance and security testing frameworks, seamlessly incorporating them into the overall SQA process.
- Define, monitor, and report on key quality metrics, including defect density, test coverage, automation effectiveness, and overall release quality.
- Participate in design and architectural discussions, ensuring testing considerations are included early in the software development process.
- Collaborate with business development and proposal teams to review and respond to RFPs and RFIs, crafting testing strategies and software quality assurance methodologies specific to Medicaid MES systems.
- Develop customized test strategies during the proposal phase, ensuring test plans meet RFP requirements and address state-specific Medicaid needs.
- Lead technical presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the organization’s testing capabilities, automation frameworks, and compliance with MITA, HIPAA, and CMS standards.
- Leverage expertise in state-specific Medicaid business processes and regulatory requirements to design tailored testing approaches that meet unique state needs.
- Implement risk-based testing approaches, focusing resources on critical areas impacting software quality, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on defects to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in test architecture, continuously improving test frameworks and processes to stay at the forefront of the industry.
- Lead transformation and change management initiatives within the SQA organization, interfacing with senior management to provide insights, best practices, and industry standards.
- Follow advancements in AI, technology, and market trends to maintain a competitive edge in the field.
- Adhere to CMMI standards and processes, representing the SQA organization in CMMI evaluations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the entire SQA team, fostering expertise and promoting best practices.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with over 10 years of Software Quality Assurance experience, including 4 to 5 years in a Test Architect or Lead Test Engineer role.
- Expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks using technologies such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, or TestNG, as well as experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Proficiency in software quality assurance tools like Atlassian Jira, Jenkins, HP Quality Center, and Confluence, with working knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps methodologies, as well as expertise in the SDLC and STLC.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring teams, leading initiatives, and facilitating discussions at all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to executives.
- Demonstrated experience in client management, with solid communication and negotiation skills, particularly in evaluating prospects, RFP responses, estimation, and scheduling.
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance life cycle (STLC) § Experience with industry Software Quality Assurance standards.
- Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Domain knowledge and experience in the healthcare or insurance industry, particularly with Medicare, Medicaid, or large-scale Medicaid system implementations.
- Strong understanding of EDI and HL7 standards for data transmission between healthcare systems.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and partner with senior management and cross-functional teams to implement major initiatives and organizational maturity projects.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis, explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences, and proactively drive project development to completion.
- Experience leading research and development initiatives, managing deadlines, and working effectively in both independent and team-oriented environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL and CMMI process models and concepts, with an understanding of SharePoint, Webex, Skype, and the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
- Experience with security testing frameworks and tools, such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or Acunetix.
- Proficient in data analytics tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Cognos Analytics.
- Test Architect certification.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $140,000.00 year – $160,000.00 year.
