We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Client Managed Sensory Department as a Sensory Manager. Reporting directly to the Regional Head of Client Managed Sensory Panels, this role will focus on providing essential support to our client-managed sensory panels.

About our Role

With 23 on-site client panels, 12 of our own commercial panels (spread around the globe), over 30 years’ experience and the ability to work both in and out-of-the-lab, our sensory analysis tools and techniques are second to none when it comes to both quality and agility

The Sensory Manager will be involved in assisting with recruitment, training, data analysis, and addressing inquiries related to panel leading best practices, working closely with experienced panel leaders. Additionally, the Sensory Manager will serve as a backup panel leader as needed at client sites.

Your role can be broken down into three key areas :

Recruitment Assistance:

* Work together with our client organizations to help find and engage potential sensory panellists

* Contribute to creating and rolling out training programs and best practices.

Data Analysis Support:

* Collaborate with experienced team members to analyze sensory evaluation data, focusing on panel performance.

* Help create performance analyses, interpret reports, and provide constructive feedback to panellists based on their results.

Panel Leading Support:

* Help our client panel leaders and their assistants implement effective practices in sensory panel leadership.

* Assist client-based panel leaders in efficiently managing panellists by focusing on both technical and behavioural KPIs.

* Support the panel leaders by aiding in the development of tailored ways of working documentation for each client site.

* Step in as the panel lead at client sites as needed to provide support for the onsite panel leader during their absences.

Requirements

  • Passion for sensory experience and innovation
  • Experience in leading trained panels, facilitating group discussion and achieving consensus is essential
  • IT literate with experience of sensory data capture software is beneficial
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Educated to degree level (ideally B.S., M.S. in Food Science, Science, Sensory or Psychology)
