About the Role:

Senior Manager, Project Management will be responsible for the management of the Product Project Management Office and ensuring the effective project management standards and processes are in place across the Product Department. Reporting to the VP of Product Operations, the primary function of this role is to ensure the successful management and execution of projects within GA’s product project portfolio while developing and leading a high performing team of Technical and Non-Technical Project Managers. You will develop and drive adoption of common processes that help bring strategic projects to life. You’ll be responsible for leading and mentoring a team, championing product governance and leading change within a large, globally distributed organization. You will directly support product leaders and will provide inputs into and support product reviews and planning.

The Senior Manager will have responsibility for high level resource planning processes, supporting product teams gathering information for projects in the pipeline, ensuring financial management of projects is consistent and aligning with our capital assumptions, as well as preparing regular status updates. This role will work closely with process leaders across Product Management, Technology, and Product Operations to bring consistency in project governance approaches. The Senior Manager will also help to set standards for project management, and provide Project Managers with a tool box to help ensure their projects are successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and continuously improve a governance process for project chartering, leadership approvals, budgeting, operational progress reporting, and cross-functional work reviews.

  • Help prioritize and resource projects with leaders based on impact, company objectives and budget 

  • Understand strategic product plans and influence operational decision making in support of business goals

  • Bring greater predictability to product project delivery

  • Ensure business awareness of key program progress and plans

  • Ensure product leadership awareness and understanding of the key risks and issues project teams are facing so we can provide perspective and assist in resolving them

  • Provide visibility into product resource needs so Product Leaders can plan more effectively and maximize project throughput

  • Ensure projects are properly transitioned to operational support

  • Guide Project Managers in building and optimizing common processes, tools, and standards to improve work alignment with product goals and plans

  • Develop and coach the team to ensure they provide insightful and consistent communication, managing cross-functional teams to stated plans and timelines

  • Partner with leaders across disciplines to ensure work by their teams is brought to life at the right time to maximize efficiency, consistency, and impact

  • Establish and track team goals and work with the VP Product Operations and team members on strategies for executing, measuring progress, and communicating results

  • Provide mentorship, guidance and career development to members of your team while removing roadblocks and encouraging innovative solutions

  • Establish and grow solid cross functional relationships with other teams to understand their operational workflows and identify opportunities for collaborative improvements

  • Use data-driven strategies and well-defined KPIs to measure your team's success, identify trends, optimize team workflows, and drive improvements

  • Extensively communicate roadblocks and results upward and downward and set clear expectations for your team

  • Measure and track team's KPIs as well as curate timely reports highlighting trends to key cross-functional partners

  • Be a strong influence for the team and their work, both internally and externally

  • Leverage skills across cross-functional teams to move roadblocks and empower individuals to execute and deliver results on initiatives that drive goals forward while mitigating competing incentives and risk

Experience:

  • 6+ years experience in end-to-end project management (waterfall and agile)

  • Experience managing projects and programs ranging from 100k to $5M

  • 1+ years experience in leading operational teams with people management responsibilities.

  • Experience working with remote, cross-functional teams.

  • Experience mentoring independent performers and actively creating opportunities for growth.

  •  Demonstrated track record of successful project management and delivery

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

  • Experience establishing Project Management standards in an enterprise environment

  • Experience creating Project Management tools and templates
