This role represents the most senior level of engineering / technical expertise within our business. Graded at the same level as our engineering managers, this role provides a unique parallel career development pathway whilst remaining in a technical role.

You will be driven, dedicated to personal development and hungry to learn about all aspects of the equipment and systems within our processing sites.

This position reports directly to the Group Head of Engineering (Maintenance) and forms part of a team of 4 senior controls technicians. This role will be expected to work to the highest standards of safety and engineering standards. As the most senior technicians in the company, they will be expected to have significant commitment to professional development and be considered role models for more junior technicians to aspire to.

Working at waste processing facilities the role will be working independently, as part of the mobile support team or alongside site-based technicians at waste processing facilities nationwide. They will support through expert level breakdown repair, fault finding, root cause analysis, PM optimisation and project support.

There are 4 roles available, you can live anywhere within mainland UK as you will be travelling regularly around our network of sites, you should be prepared for frequent travel, short notice requests for site support and regular nights away from home.

Requirements

Here’s what we require.

  • Level 3 Qualified Electrical / Electronic / Controls / Instrumentation
  • UK driving license (essential).
  • Working in a fast moving high pressure environment
  • Worked within a 24/7 process
  • Manufacturing industry / processing experience
  • Able to travel, without restriction, and work some unsociable hours, with regular nights away from home
  • Ability to respond out of hours to support operations teams dealing with call out or emergency
