We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at Black Sky Creative. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our ventures. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling financial statements, preparing budgets and forecasts, and analyzing financial data to support decision-making. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
What you’ll do:
- Code daily bank transactions (4 accounts) that sync to QBO.
- Process all AP invoices through Bill.com for approval. Make sure to request W9’s for new vendors for 1099 processing.
- Prepare monthly schedules for accruals, prepaids, amortization, depreciation entries for approval. Update monthly BS reconciliations.
- Maintain internal controls over financial accounting and reporting processes in compliance with Sony Music Entertainment.
- Oversee inventory management systems (BevSpot/Fishbowl) for all locations. Assist with managing multiple POS systems (Square & Shopify) to make sure transactions and payments are being processed correctly.
- Help to ensure strict deadlines are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
- Other adhoc projects as assigned.
Who you are:
- 5 years+ of accounting experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with IFRS.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Bill.com, Expensify, SAP, and QBO with a working knowledge of other accounting software.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong sense of ownership.
- Self-starter who can manage multiple competing business priorities.
- Strategic, analytical, and agile thinker with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to comprehend big picture while also paying close attention to detail.
