Project Accountant II, Client Financial Management

Responsibilities:
- Supports the revenue generation cycle by processing, analyzing, and troubleshooting time sheets, expense reports, billing rules, client invoices, client deposits, project tracking tools, and systems.
- Supports the overall portfolio of clients through partnerships with Business Development, Proposals, and Project Management.
- Communicates with the Project Team (Business Development, Proposals, Activation Administrators, Staff/Project Accountants, Resourcing, Project Management) proactively & investigates financial inquiries.
- Supports the Proposal process by completing financial contract reviews, including project estimation review and support.
- Authorizes final project activation based on client contracts and client relationship status, escalating to management when necessary.
- Approves project timesheet and invoice adjustments, escalating to management when necessary.
- Reviews project details to ensure accuracy of data and alignment between systems.
- Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Works with functional areas to understand and support reporting needs based on the requirements of internal and/or external customers.
- Identifies and implements process improvements within assigned projects and activities.
- Undertakes special projects as assigned and able to make recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor level degree in Accounting, Finance, required.
- Minimum 2-4 years related work experience.
- Service Industry experience preferred.
- Experience participating on a cross-functional team.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to prepare and analyze financial information.
- Must have excellent Excel skills, including data mining and data analysis.
- Must be capable of exercising good judgment in areas of moderate to high complexity when the situation warrants.
- High level understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- High level analytical capabilities.
- High math competency level; very detail oriented.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Self-starter and motivation to accomplish tasks with minimal direction.
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office applications. Salesforce, NetSuite and OpenAir a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
