The Democratic Party Remote, US Contract

You will be the voice of the DNC Tech Team and our value proposition to external audiences, including users in state parties and campaigns, partner organizations, prospective donors, the technology industry, and the broader Democratic ecosystem. This role will require executing on outbound marketing, communications, and user engagement activities, including defining and implementing product marketing plans, user & stakeholder communications, training programs, and brand strategy for the DNC Tech team. By working closely with other functions (including product, design, community support, analytics, engineering, and data science), you will craft strategies that build user trust and capabilities, increase user awareness and engagement with DNC products and services, and ultimately help Democrats win up and down the ballot in 2024.

Who we are

  • We are a fully remote, distributed team living in 19 states and from a variety of backgrounds – some of us have worked in political campaigns, others in public sector tech, and others in industry. We value diversity in perspective, lived experience, and the many paths one may take in their career. We believe deeply in the promise of breaking the boom-bust cycle of political tech work and building technology infrastructure that will support campaigns from cycle to cycle, improving with every iteration.

You will (Responsibilities):

  • Define product marketing, communication, training, and brand strategy for the DNC Tech product portfolio.
  • Manage and implement a multi-channel user and stakeholder communications program to increase awareness, trust, and engagement with DNC Tech products and services, speaking in a single “voice” for DNC Tech across different types of communications.
  • Oversee a central documentation “knowledge base” website for DNC Tech products, and ensure that it is kept up to date.
  • Partner closely with our Community support team to implement a user training program that increases accessibility and adoption of the DNC Tech data warehouse and product portfolio.
  • Establish and execute go-to-market strategies for DNC Tech products, including training, documentation, launch communications, and public relations plans.
  • Assist with donor communications, including creation of donor-facing assets about the DNC Tech Team.

Does this sound like you?

  • I am committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot, and I am excited about using data and technology to make that happen.
  • I enjoy explaining complex technical products and value propositions to audiences that are not familiar with them, and I am able to tailor my message to meet the needs of a variety of audiences.
  • I am skilled at building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal staff, external users, and partner organizations.
  • I have exceptional organizational and communication skills, and can drive cross-functional projects through conception, execution, and follow-up by myself.
  • I am a curious self-starter who takes initiative to jump into new things and quickly learn on my own, and I am not intimidated by ambiguous and unfamiliar situations.

We’d be excited to see (Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on product marketing.
  • Experience working on a political campaign or with technology used for voter contact and volunteer organizing.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, relational databases, data warehouses, and/or data science.
  • Experience with fundraising pitches for political or nonprofit organizations.
