Principal Product Manager – TiDB Management Console

Responsibilities
- Strategic Product Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the TiDB Management Console, focusing on usability, performance, and feature richness.
- User Experience Harmonization: Ensure that the Management Console aligns closely with the TiDB Cloud interface wherever possible, creating a unified and intuitive experience across platforms that supports seamless transitions between self-managed and cloud environments.
- Feature Prioritization and Innovation: Identify and prioritize features that simplify cluster management, including monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, and scaling capabilities.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering to define technical requirements, establish timelines, and oversee the delivery of console features.
- Customer Feedback Integration: Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product enhancements that align with user needs, improve productivity, and reduce operational complexity.
- Security and Reliability Focus: Maintain a strong emphasis on security, reliability, and ease of integration with other database management tools.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in a technical field is a plus.
- Professional Experience: 10+ years of product management experience in enterprise software, database management, or cloud infrastructure.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of database systems, distributed systems, and the needs of database administrators.
- Product Development Expertise: Proven experience managing product roadmaps, defining requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to translate technical details into customer-focused product features.
- Management Console Development: Experience in building management consoles and contributing to open-source development projects.
- Enterprise Offering Development: Demonstrated experience in developing differentiated enterprise, and licensed offerings while remaining true to open-source values.
