Optiv is looking for a high-energy, seasoned marketing content professional to help drive, amplify and execute our company’s thought leadership strategy. Reporting to the senior director of communications, who oversees corporate communications and corporate marketing content, the manager, content is a world-class storyteller and content architect. A critical member of the team, this person is able to think big picture and align content strategy to company and MarComm priorities, but also enjoys rolling up their sleeves to create compelling pieces. Passionate about being “the voice” of a leading cyber advisory and solutions company, the position is preferred to be based in Denver or Kansas City with a hybrid work schedule, but can be remote for the right candidate.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Manage and mentor a team of content writers
  • Help set tone and editorial strategy/direction for all external-facing company content and thought leadership that aligns with company and team priorities
  • Architect a content strategy and editorial calendar
  • Content planning and message development to curate compelling and highly engaging stories that support thought leadership and brand awareness
  • Generate, write, edit and execute diverse content initiatives and plans within our established processes
  • Edit content pieces per AP Style and assure SEO optimization on all content produced
  • Collaborate with teammates and subject matter experts across the company to develop high-quality, targeted content that resonates with various personas and drives action (clicks, downloads, etc.)
  • Prioritize work and manage multiple streams of work, partnering with marketing project management to ensure projects are right-size and deadlines and quality are met
  • Work within documented processes and platforms, including Workfront
  • Define, track and report metrics. Leverage metrics to inform decisions and evolve writing strategy
  • Be a brand ambassador; help own and amplify brand platform messaging and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for Success:

  • At least 12-15 years of demonstrated experience in marketing content writing (experience in technology/cybersecurity industry a plus but not required)
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Experience architecting and executing a corporate content strategy
  • Superior written, oral, relationship, listening and organizational skills
  • Passion for storytelling
  • Digital writing and SEO experience; website management a plus
  • Demonstrated experience generating diverse content from creative briefs and content calendars, to infographics, webinars, white papers, ebooks, infographics, web pages, company blogs, service briefs, demand gen emails, ads, video scripts and more (writing samples are required)
  • Experienced team player with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and agility
  • Ability to distill complex issues and information into simple, digestible, and actionable messages for personas across a variety of content channels
  • Proven success building and maintaining relationships; experience interacting with executive leaders a plus
  • Proactive, hardworking self-starter with a “no-task-is-to-small” attitude, collaborative mindset and willingness to go above and beyond stated responsibilities
  • Ability to prioritize on the fly and manage multiple tracks of work simultaneously
  • Knowledge of AP Style and an eye for detail
  • Ability to navigate Office 365 and Workfront
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or associated field
