Role Summary

The Manager, Language and Literacy Content will lead the development, curation and management of high-quality, research-based content for CORE’s Language and Literacy products. This role is essential in shaping the content strategy to enhance educational outcomes for both educators and students. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in language and literacy, crafting content that supports diverse learner needs. As a key member of CORE’s Product Development team, this manager will work cross-functionally, lead a content team, and drive innovative content solutions. Candidates must  have a strong understanding of evidence-based reading/English Language Arts (ELA) instruction, including the Science of Reading/structured literacy, language acquisition theories, and literacy development principles, with a strong understanding of pedagogical strategies.

UnboundEd/CORE Learning operates as a fully virtual organization, with core business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. This role can be based anywhere in the United States. Up to 25% travel may be required.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Development and Curation: Develop and curate impactful, research-based Language and Literacy content to support educators and enhance student learning outcomes

  • Create, edit and revise high-quality Language and Literacy content
  • Ensure content aligns with current research, standards and best practices
  • Curate resources and materials to meet diverse learner needs across CORE’s product offerings

Strategy and Innovation: Support content strategy and innovation, driving the evolution of CORE’s Language and Literacy resources to meet emerging educational trends

  • Shape and execute the content strategy for CORE’s Language and Literacy products
  • Attend industry conferences, conduct ongoing research to identify trends and implement innovative approaches in content creation
  • Develop frameworks to measure content effectiveness and inform strategic adjustments

Team Leadership and Collaboration: Manages a cross-functional team and collaborates across departments to ensure cohesive, impactful content that supports CORE’s organizational goals

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of content specialists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to integrate content within CORE’s broader educational products
  • Communicate effectively with internal careholders to align content initiatives with overall objectives

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensures content quality, consistency and compliance with CORE’s standards and educational guidelines

  • Oversee content reviews for accuracy, consistency and alignment with CORE’s standards
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to ensure continuous content improvement
  • Maintain compliance with relevant educational policies and copyright regulations

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, Linguistics, or a related field required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in content development, instructional design, or curriculum development is required, with at least three (3) years of evidence-based reading/English Language Arts teaching experience (structured literacy) and at least two (2) years managing content teams and overseeing large-scale content projects
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training will also be considered

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Google-based applications, and online collaboration tools such as Slack

Compensation

CORE Learning offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package that includes take-as-you-need vacation time, group medical, dental and vision plans, disability and life insurance plans, and an employer-sponsored 401K retirement plan with a 5% employer contribution with no vesting period or salary cap. This is an exempt, full-time position with an annual salary of $114,000 with bonus earning potential based on company revenue targets.
