ABOUT THIS ROLE
As the Beyond Meat Key Account Manager (KAM) – Northeast, you will be responsible for selling & executing key Beyond Meat strategies with the goal of hitting revenue & profit growth targets at a set group of retailers based in US.  You will be equipped with a set trade spend budget to drive said strategies & growth.  You will also leverage brokers, distributors, & other key partners to maximize the impact across your customers.
 
A successful KAM deeply understands their retailers & consumers.  Consequently, they build strategic plans that simultaneously grow Beyond Meat’s business, grow the customer’s business, & delight the shopper & execute those plans with excellence.  Their buyers, distributors, & brokers come to them first with opportunities or ideas because they trust the KAM knows exactly what solutions will deliver the most value.  Lastly, because of this robust knowledge & understanding, they actively advocate internally for the strategies, tools, & support that will maximize growth for their customers.
 
MAJOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS & DELIVERABLES
The Key Account Manager – Northeast is critical to achieving our financial goals & furthering our mission.  You will be trusted with developing & maintaining sustainable, profitable businesses at each of your customers.  You will occasionally need to navigate headwinds & adversity, creatively utilize available selling tools & resources, & wear multiple hats to ensure successful end-to-end execution.  Grit, determination, leadership, strategic thinking, & a belief in our mission align strongly with the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.  We believe the following actions & behaviors are they key to success as the Key Account Manager:

Sell & Execute Key Business Drivers in Line with Beyond Meat National Strategies:

  • Ensure your customers have the right distribution in the right stores at the right time with a focus on Beyond’s core line of products.
  • Actively pursue everyday pricing across the total portfolio that enables the best value (quality & size for the price) vs our competition within each respective market. 
  • Design & execute a promotion plan that maximizes profitable growth & unlocks other key business drivers.  Ensure the plan stays within national guardrails & trade spend budget.
  • Create category & shopper minded shelving strategy recommendations where Beyond Meat products are easy to find, highlighted within the category, & always on shelf (limit out of stocks).
  • Build out a detailed annual plan incorporating these & other relevant key business drivers.  The plan should be anchored on where you are today, what your targets are (with check in & completion dates), & what is needed from both Beyond & the customer to achieve success.  

Leverage Tools/Resources & External & Internal Partners:

  • Identify, learn, & utilize a variety of data tools to develop plant-based meat insights.
  • Collaborate with category management team for key top customer meetings & deliverables.
  • Build relationships with the right distributors & brokers that allow for maximized impact across your customers.  Educate & equip key partners.  If there are gaps, issues, or opportunities with current partners, craft a solution with actionable direction for internal leadership (e.g. recommending a new distribution method).

Serve As Driven Team Member & Internal Leader

  • Communicate volume & trade spend forecasts during structured meetings & as needed. Proactively call out gaps, upsides, & risks with corresponding actions or help needed.
  • Share proven content & tools with the rest of the retail team.
  • Champion strategies & ideas that will drive the collective retail business forward.
  • Positively influence organizational culture & energy.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE’S QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCES INCLUDE:

  • BA/BS required
  • 5+ years of retail Headquarter sales experience, including strategic accounts & scale retailers, with strong track record of success
  • Experience in a top-tier consumer products % / or food & beverage company
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using trade spend management & forecasting tools
  • Must have excellent communication & presentation skills with the ability to motivate & engage
