As an Intermediate Accountant at 1Password, you will be a key member of our growing Finance team. You will be reporting to the Director of Accounting Operations and will be primarily responsible for AR and AP accounting and analytics while also performing general AR/AP functions. You will be utilizing your analytical skills to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our teams. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven, with a solid accounting background.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with hands-on exposure to both AR and AP   
  • Experience in the tech industry and with Netsuite is considered an asset 
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data modeling)
  • Good understanding of financial systems, accounting principles, and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate teamwork skills in a growing team.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities while being flexible and resilient.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties, follow through tasks with minimum direction, and be extremely detail oriented in order to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and explain variances. 

What you can expect:

  • Prepare working papers and journal entries including AFDA provisions, bad debt write-offs, vendor accruals and other AR/AP related transactions
  • Prepare month-end account reconciliations and analysis 
  • Develop key performance metrics and dashboards to enhance visibility into AR/AP processes and enable data-driven decision-making (DSO, DPO, aging buckets)
  • Perform monthly variance analyses of key AR/AP general ledger accounts and present the findings at the CAO monthly review
  • Prepare the quarterly cash payout and cash collection forecast 
  • Review and approve vendor invoices prior to payment processing 
  • Prepare and schedule the AP bills for weekly payment run
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities and support both internal and external audits
  • Assist in projects related to the automation and process improvements and help with other AR/AP tasks as needed
