Mission
After years of hypergrowth, Alan’s next challenge is to continue to do so in the context of a clear path to profitability. Finance is positioned as a business partner supporting all our teams in the decision making process. Also Alan has the ambition to become a listed company at some point so we believe that we should start to act like one right now. One of Finance missions is the production and communication of financial data for all consumers: board, team, tax administrations, regulator (ACPR), business partners, clients, prospects and any external communications (press release). 
The financial controller needs to master every process with a potential impact on Alan’s finances, define and design the data structure needed to track them and build the source of truth that will be used for the production of financials and all dashboards used in the company. 
We are looking for a forward-thinking, experienced finance professional who is ready to take on the challenge of transforming Alan’s finance processes. 
The ideal candidate will not only bring a strong foundation in finance and accounting, acting as the trusted guardian of our financial integrity and obligations but will also embody the innovation and leadership necessary to propel Alan towards its  ambitious growth and eventual transition to a publicly listed company. 
Detailed missions
Global Financial Stewardship: Take charge of producing all financial information for the entire Alan group, spanning 6 entities across 3 countries (and counting). This encompasses translating business activities into financial KPIs, supporting FP&A monitoring by designing a reliable cockpit to drive the group activity, and ensuring timely account closures in compliance with legal obligations across all markets.
Strategic Data Oversight: You will spearhead the creation of a comprehensive data structure that underlies all financial reporting and dashboarding across the company. This includes defining and designing processes and systems to establish a single source of truth for Alan’s financials, imperative for informed decision-making and operational excellence.
Innovative Process Design: Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to develop scalable accounting and financial monitoring tools that support Alan’s rapid growth and international expansion. Your role demands a unique blend of high-level strategic vision and the ability to dive deep into process intricacies, crafting systems in tandem with our business operations teams.
Audit and Regulatory Compliance Leadership:  Lead interactions with financial, tech and tax auditors, ensuring seamless audit processes. Oversee ACPR reporting and compliance, maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Operate at the intersection of Operations, Data, and Business Strategy. This role requires a deep integration with various teams to ensure that financial processes are aligned with Alan’s broader objectives and that financial planning and analysis (FP&A) are driving the company’s activity effectively.
Leadership and Growth: You will drive the recruitment and development of a robust team, setting the standards for financial data governance across the company.
Ideal Profile
In a nutshell we are looking for 
6+ years experience profile in corporate finance
– with strong knowledge in both accounting, financial planning is a significant plus,
– with strong experience in project management, building new processes
– with insurance expertise 
Educational Background
You graduated from either one of the top engineering (eg. X, Mines Paris, Centrale-Supélec, ENSAE, Ponts, Telecom Paris) or business schools (eg. HEC, Essec, ESCP, EDHEC, Dauphine, EM Lyon) or international equivalent. 
Professional Experience
Started career in a prestigious audit firm (e.g., KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, EY, Mazars), specialising in insurance, with a strong background in accounting and corporate finance.
Experience in the finance team of a fast-growing/ Next 40 startup, where you were responsible for structuring financial processes, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting, data management, and compliance. 
You are now excited by the challenge to lead the structuration of the finance production team in a high-growth environment, like Alan.
Technical proficiency 
– Expertise in accounting, with a good knowledge of French accounting rules and IFRS.
– Insurance accounting knowledge is a significant plus.Understanding of data structure design and familiarity with financial software and data tools 
– Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose effective solutions.
– Basic knowledge of SQL.

Ownership and project management: ability to take charge of vital company topics, driving them from start to finish, capable of managing tight deadlines and coordinating with multiple stakeholders asynchronously.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French, capable of effectively conveying financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Ability to communicate clearly to/ engage a broad range of stakeholders 
Prioritization: With a small yet efficient team, the ability to balance and prioritize among different stakeholders is crucial
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technologies, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes. 
Leadership and collaboration  
Collaboration: Team player, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve financial accuracy and transparency.
– Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor team members in best practices for financial reporting and data management.
Languages
– English: Fluent in spoken and written English, as it is the primary language of communication within the company.
– French: Proficient in French, given the regulatory requirements and interactions with French-speaking counterparts.
