Constructor is a rapidly growing software company that powers search and discovery for some of the largest ecommerce retailers in the world. We are currently seeking a results-oriented Finance & Accounting Lead to help us scale our business operations.

In this role, you will report to our COO and take on a broad set of responsibilities across both Finance and Accounting. You will be expected to roll up your sleeves from Day 1 and you will take on a broad and important role as the company continues to scale efficiently.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, good strategic thinking, excellent communication skills and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities include:

Accounting and controllership 

  • Review and book GL transactions 
  • Manage and lead interactions with external accounting firm during financial period close and financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Assist third party accounting firm to enable accurate and timely closing of the monthly financials
  • Oversee our accounting systems and infrastructure, helping us to scale them as the company grows 
  • Assist COO in managing Constructor’s relationships with external auditors and consultants

Financial reporting

  • Help third party accounting firm prepare and organize the books to meet internal stakeholders requirements
  • Prepare analyses and presentations of financial performance for internal use on executive team 
  • P&L Reporting by department and geo 

Financial planning 

  • Take over and improve company forecast model 
  • Act as a resource to leaders across the business, delivering meaningful insight and financial decision support
  • Drive month to month financial reporting and budget vs. actual analysis
  • Act as key resource during preparation of Board materials 

Financial systems and operations 

  • Assist any explorations of new financial accounting systems
  • Improve processes to streamline financial close

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or any related field
  • 3+ years experience working in Finance or Accounting at a technology company or in a related industry
  • Experience with month-end/year end close processes
  • Comfort with Finance and Accounting principles (US GAAP, US/IFRS)
  • Excellent excel skills and experience with financial statement analysis
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally, including with business, finance, and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate under pressure
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats with shifting priorities and work on projects of all types
  • Curious, enthusiastic, proactive, strong team player
