Job Title: Director, SEO & Content Strategy

  • Possess a solid background in SEO & Content Strategy. You have a deep understanding of SEO best practices, content marketing, and analytics to ensure sound strategies are developed that drive organic traffic, improve search engine rankings, and increase brand visibility for the clients we serve.
  • Excel at strategy. Develop and execute a comprehensive search, holistic search, and key messaging strategies for clients that align with their business products/services.
  • Be data-driven. Extract insights from varied data sources, identify relevant trends, and provide well-developed recommendations to enhance and exceed overall client search marketing goals and objectives.
  • Storyteller. You have the ability to synthesize information to tell a compelling story. You are capable of saying more with less.
  • Strongly believe in leaning in. This means coaching the team to be forward-thinking, jumping into projects, and rolling up your sleeves where it’s necessary. This doesn’t mean micromanaging but means leading by example and ensuring that your team and clients are set up for success.

As a key leader, you must also demonstrate the capability to develop strong partnerships with both clients and agency teams alike. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to meet and exceed client goals for organic search
  • Lead account strategy and partner with clients as an influential, trusted consultant
  • Confidently and effectively communicate strategy and results to clients in reports and meetings
  • Inspire and lead the SEO and Content Strategy teams, including training and mentoring team members and consultants on strategy and execution
  • Determining appropriate resourcing for each client and project
  • Assure high-quality presentations and deliverables, ensuring that we are delivering on time and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Continually and thoughtfully educate yourself on strategies and best practices in SEO, content strategy, and digital marketing overall
  • Partner with leaders across ROI·DNA to ensure delivery of a unified strategic approach and delivery

What You Have

  • 8-10 years of demonstrated, expert-level SEO experience, either agency or client-side. Active, hands-on optimization experience is required.
  • Proven prior work experience managing a team of 4+ direct reports and demonstrated ability to mentor and develop direct reports into more senior roles
  • Natural, proven leadership instincts that your team will want to follow and your clients will implicitly trust. Able to understand clients’ visible and invisible needs
  • SEO expertise – you must be an innovative, technically-advanced search engine optimization expert with a demonstrated history of driving results with organic search.
  • Top-notch communication skills: be able to write clearly and quickly, present your ideas in an organized and coherent manner and be willing to stand up to challenges from clients.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of client contacts, up to senior execs.
  • Mastery of the fundamentals: page titles, meta tags, headers, URL structure, link anchor text.
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as GA and Adobe Analytics. Must be comfortable manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data in order to make actionable recommendations.
  • Must have a deep understanding of SEO best practices, keyword research methodologies, information architecture, and other components of SEO.
  • Ability to turn research and analysis into actionable insights and comprehensive but readable documents is paramount.
  • Excellent technical skills and proficiency in MS Office suite are important—strong Excel skills are a must.
  • Highly analytical in both thinking and hands-on experience with tools like Moz, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and other tools.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $130k-$150k per year. Salary is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, alignment with market data, as well as internal and external equity.
