We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Materials Planning to join Oura’s Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the Materials Planning team, ensuring the seamless execution and communication of end-to-end material planning processes within our global Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop talent. The Director, Materials Planning will be critical in shaping and optimizing our supply chain as we build out our global operations, partnering closely with Contract Manufacturers (CMs), suppliers, and internal teams to bring our product vision to life.
What you will do:
- Manage the Clear-to-Build (CTB) process with suppliers and CMs, ensuring efficient processes and clear visibility on procurement strategy
- Drive the selection and implementation of an integrated end-to-end supply chain control tower/system to optimize WIP and component tracking, demand forecasting, supply management, and inventory planning.
- Proactively manage materials and reporting to maintain target levels, prevent stockouts, and identify risks, while recommending critical actions for E&O and other material issues.
- Optimize the value chain planning process to reduce logistics and excess/obsolete inventory costs.
Collaboration and Strategic Development
- Work closely with Supply Chain leaders to enhance operational efficiency and support the development of supply chain strategies
- Lead and create a strategic framework to guide a team of material planners, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Assess and communicate critical materials updates at weekly executive reviews; including materials risks and mitigation plans
- Establish critical and scalable improvement initiatives related to materials planning tools and processes
- Partner with CMs to develop models that incorporate specific supply chain and materials flow details to project availability
- Collaborate with Sourcing leadership to ensure seamless communication and coordination between teams to resolve issues
Materials Management and Optimization
- Provide strategic direction for material planning strategies that align with company goals and production schedules
- Work cross-functionally to identify and set target material levels across our global supply chain
- Create and maintain reporting that summarizes material levels, upcoming availability, risks to CM performance and all related issues that support these key performance indicators.
- Monitor and manage key operational and supply chain metrics, including MRP usage
- Create allocation strategies for constrained materials by developing models across factories and programs
- Act as an escalation point to resolve or minimize risk to the production plan or contract date.
This is a remote US role.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Materials Planning, or Supply Planning, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience managing, leading, and developing a team in material program management, or procurement organization
- A background with consumer electronics, hardware, or medical device companies
- In-depth knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
- Experience implementing and working with integrated planning systems, such as supply chain control towers or centers of excellence
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs)
- Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity, including the ability to establish and improve processes in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel; expertise working with large datasets
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Willingness to travel two to three times per quarter to Mexico and Finland

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
