We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Director of Digital Communications to manage and oversee all aspects of our digital marketing strategy and channels. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, execution, and optimization of digital communication campaigns that engage diverse audiences, align with organizational goals, and elevate our brand voice. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving impactful digital initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and staying ahead of digital trends. 
We are flexible with geographic location—the ideal candidate can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or from our headquarters in Bethesda, MD.

Primary Duties:

  • Managing a team responsible for the execution of company owned digital communications channels, as well as product and vendor relationships.
  • Accountable for organic digital strategy and reputation management and execution across company public website, social channels and intranet, collaborating as part of a cross-functional team to support strategic goals.
  • Accountable for planning and optimizing strategic recommendations to embed digital strategy into ongoing communications efforts, including but not limited to evaluation of current processes, tactics, and systems as well as future recommendations; staying current on existing and emergent channels/technology; ongoing analysis of competitive landscape to inform digital strategies and content.
  • Contributing to and developing new dashboards of key metrics and standardizing weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or yearly reporting to meaningfully interpret results and implications aligned to industry benchmarks.  Testing ideas and optimizing based on results.
  • Cross-functionally partner to enhance the digital effectiveness of company-wide efforts to support multi-stakeholder needs as they evolve.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant, equivalent work experience in communications, marketing or digital marketing
  • 12+ years of experience developing and managing optimized digital strategies across digital organic channels and email marketing with increasing responsibility
  • 8+ years managing a highly effective digital communications team
  • Experience with Google Analytics, GSuite, WordPress, and Salesforce 

Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

  • Ability to work on a wide range of project types, from strategy, to process and metrics definition, to hands-on website development, email, content creation and publishing and channel management
  • Proven foundation of digital communications best practices including a deep understanding of digital KPIs and performance metrics
  • B2B and/or B2C/DTC experience; results-driven with exceptional detail and knowledge around metrics, specifically A/B testing
  • SEO experience and certifications
  • Healthcare industry experience, with experience marketing to physicians, physician practices or related associations
  • Highly organized with demonstrated interpersonal, communication, time management and analytical skills; ability to derive meaning from data through testing and analytics 
  • Experience researching, onboarding, implementing, managing systems and vendors

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
