YOUR MISSION

We’re out to win the Digital Analytics category and customer marketing is critical to our company’s success.  At Amplitude, we’ve created a solid early foundation in building out a value-driven marketing approach that focuses on outcomes and helping our customers propel their businesses forward. We are a leader in Product Analytics but this is just a small part of what we do and where we are going. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director to develop a world-class customer marketing and advocacy approach  and capitalize on the exciting momentum in the market. The Director of Customer Advocacy & Marketing will be responsible for setting the strategy, designing  scalable programs, and creating relationships across their team and the company to further these goals. Our ultimate goal is to establish Amplitude as a market leader,  trusted expert and business-critical solution for our customers, partners and industry influencers.

An ideal candidate has a proven track record of successfully building customer advocacy and marketing programs to drive category leadership. This leader must have experience managing people and multiple high-stakes projects, a passion for customers, and ability to effectively translate complex terms and customer stories  into value-based outcomes that resonate with our audience. This leader will collaborate with other senior internal stakeholders including Executives, Product Management, Customer Success, Comms and Business Operations to collaborate on, build and execute on our customer advocacy and marketing strategy.

 

In this role you will:

This is a rare opportunity to grow and shape customer advocacy and marketing. We’re looking for a strong leader who can strike the right balance between thoughtful strategy and impactful execution. 

Requisition Justification – What’s on your plate:

  • Lead and build Amplitude’s customer advocacy function to build mindshare amongst our customers across the globe
  • Lead a team of 1 customer marketer plus several contractors, with the opportunity to grow and scale this over time.
  • Build and execute our customer advocacy and marketing strategy in collaboration with key teams to help capture the voice of the customer and build customers for life
  • Lead the development of case studies, customer programs (Amp Champs, global CABs, EABs etc), key award programs (Pioneer awards), customer campaigns (Aha campaign), customer value capture programs (ROI metrics), IR and AR customer requests and more.
  • Interact with customers to drive and outside-in approach to what we build and execute
  • Develop and build out customer advocacy and marketing programs globally across teams
  • Leverage agency partners to bolster GTM

The ideal candidate has:

  • 5-7 years of relevant customer advocacy and customer marketing experience 
  • Direct experience in the enterprise software industry, with international and high-growth startup experience preferred.
  • Proven results in driving high-impact customer campaigns and programs 
  • Ability to build relationships with internal partners to understand and communicate business strategy.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and mentor multiple team members.
  • A growth mindset and passion for building high-functioning teams.
  • Ability to strike the right balance can strike between strategy and execution.
  • A strong, clear writing style and voice, with excellent writing and editing skills.
  • A detail-oriented, analytical approach, with the ability to manage multiple, high-profile projects and deliverables.
  • BS/BA degree

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $185,000 – $278,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $206,000 – $309,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $206,000 – $309,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $185,000 – $278,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $185,000 – $278,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
