We’re seeking a new DevOps Engineer to join our UK-based team of 6, filling a recently promoted position. You’ll be at the forefront of driving our digital content infrastructure, products, and services forward. Providing a professional and proactive service aligned with business needs in an ITIL best practice-focused Operations team is key to this role.

Your responsibilities include offering DevOps collaborative assistance, supporting development teams with day-to-day tasks within the development, stage, and UAT environments before release to production. Your success in this role directly contributes to the improvements and evolution of Racing Post newspaper production, website, and digital content infrastructure, products, and services. We also value your experience in hands-on implementation of DevOps practices at scale.

We’re looking for someone inquisitive, keen to learn, and proactive, especially as this is a remote role. In this exciting position, you’ll have Research and Development (R&D) opportunities, exploring new technologies for the company to generate new knowledge that might be used to create innovative technology, products, services, or systems.

Requirements

  • AWS and Cloud technologies
  • Linux/Unix environments
  • Jenkins CI Tooling
  • Grafana monitoring stack (LGTM)
  • Restful APIs
  • Configuration Management tooling (Ansible/Puppet/Chef) – Streamlining operations!
  • Terraform

While the above skills are essential, it would be fantastic if you also had:

  • Knowledge and experience of push messaging (websockets, etc.)
  • Experience with Docker
