We are looking for a temporary Content Strategist to support and optimize our digital marketing strategies, completing a series of special projects over a 10 to 12 week timeframe.
Coforma is looking for a self-starter who can work cross-functionally as part of a remote Marketing and Communications team to execute key digital strategy projects during a 10 to 12 week timeframe. The ideal candidate is passionate about the power of storytelling to connect audiences with the work and experiences of a values-driven small business, and enjoys putting effective digital marketing and communications strategies into action.
In this role, your passion for technical detail, knowledge of digital marketing approaches, tools, and trends, along with your desire to contribute your expertise in a collaborative team setting will enable improved delivery of our core digital strategies and help us better reach our target audiences. During the course of your work with us, you’ll implement SEO plans and insights for our website and blog content, help our Marketing team migrate old content to a new blog platform, lead optimization efforts and strategy shifts, track and report on metrics and insights, and coordinate campaigns designed to achieve targeted results and drive brand awareness. 
You possess strong foundational knowledge and skills in creating and optimizing digital content across a range of platforms and tools, with experience in content management for websites, digital media campaign coordination, SEO strategy and execution, digital advertising, and tracking performance across digital strategies and platforms. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you’ll collaborate closely with our team to ensure our digital content strategies align with our audiences’ needs and business goals. 
$65.00 per hour
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted hourly rate is non-negotiable.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Implement SEO recommendations for existing Coforma website pages
  • Implement SEO recommendations for our case study pages
  • Migrate old blog content for new blog launch
  • Update SEO for existing blog content
  • Develop a new SEO plan for our new blog strategy and content plan
  • Gather, report on, and analyze metrics, supporting our Marketing team in developing its quarterly report
  • Help implement our single channel optimization plan for our LinkedIn business page
  • Support and optimize Coforma’s multi-channel digital marketing and communications strategies and campaigns while collaborating with a more senior member of the team
  • Understand and leverage SEO best practices and tools to optimize Coforma’s web properties and digital content, collaborating with the MarComms team on strategy
  • Report on the progress and success of strategies by compiling key metrics from our digital platforms (including LinkedIn and our websites)
  • Manage Coforma’s paid digital advertising within a set budget and in line with approved strategies, reporting progress, and metrics 
  • Accurately track and assess progress on your assigned work, making adjustments as needed
  • Report risks, successes, progress, backlog, and failures in a timely, clear, and efficient manner
  • Model and promote a highly collaborative, responsible, and ethical culture through your individual actions 
  • Contribute to internal projects and initiatives, supporting the Marketing department’s objectives as requested 

Who You Are (Requirements)

  • 4+ years of professional work experience
  • At least 2 years of experience as a digital media professional
  • At least 2 years of experience executing digital media campaigns with a focus on storytelling
  • Experience working with creative and technical stakeholders and team members
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS)
  • Experience with Google Analytics and/or G4
  • Experience with SEO best practices and strategies, as well as related software (SEMRush, Yoast, or similar)
  • Experience with digital advertising, including Google Ad Words and LinkedIn
  • Experience with content governance workflows and related technologies
  • Working knowledge of content platforms and software including Adobe, SEMRush, Canva, Monday.com (or similar), Meltwater (or similar), and Yoast
  • Experience managing milestones, dependencies, communications, and stakeholder expectations
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally (whether verbally or through assistive technologies/aids) 
  • Strong competency in situational awareness, situational leadership, and conflict mitigation and resolution

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Digital marketing certification a plus
  • Experience with and/or willingness to learn how AI technology bolsters content and how to ethically leverage it to optimize your and the team’s work
  • 2+ years experience working on a remote team or remote freelancing
  • Demonstrated experience crafting and/or optimizing quality dynamic content across multiple platforms in the government contracting, civic tech, digital services, or IT space
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, flexible, innovative, and attentive to detail
  • Experience with link tracking technologies and approaches
