The Cloud Analyst’s key client will be California Department of Public Health (CDPH), supporting the Surveillance and Public Health Information Reporting and Exchange system (SaPHIRE), and will be required to work PST hours.
 
The position will be responsible for support, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the infrastructure needed using a wide range of software platforms. The position will be the junior member of a team that includes a Cloud Engineer and a Senior Cloud Engineer, which presents a significant opportunity to learn and grow your career. Ensuring fundamental information security tasks are performed is another key activity. This position will collaborate closely with other departments with a high focus on delivering excellent support. This position functions as the first line of support and will use a variety of software platforms housed primarily in a hosted or AWS environment including Active Directory, Alert Logic, Atlassian, Linux servers, and other healthcare specialized software platforms.
 
This position is approved until June 2025 with a possible extension based on California State requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment
  • Perform on call duties
  • Ensure all assigned deliverables to CDPH are provided 

Function as primary infrastructure support for MX customers which includes but is not limited to:

  • Remediation of technical and security related issues for integration to SaPHIRE infrastructure and components
  • Provisioning & managing users
  • Designing and configure monitoring methods and monitor systems
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues
  • Troubleshooting operating system & database issues
  • Troubleshooting participant identified issues
  • Participate in communicating with customers regarding outages

Function as System Administrator for assigned systems which includes but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring software is up to date with releases and patches
  • Ensuring security patches are installed
  • Ensuring data is being backed up and able to be restored
  • Performing systems analysis, including consulting with users to determine hardware software, or system functional specifications

Additional:

  • Ensure cross training & documentation results in no single point of human failure
  • Comply with MX Policies & Procedures & ensure proper use and protection of information assets by complying with the organization’s information privacy and security policies to protect assets from unauthorized access and by reporting any security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience
  • 2+ years in a similar role with similar responsibilities as above or other relevant experience
  • 2+ years working in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
  • 2+ years working with Linux
  • 2+ years working with Microsoft Active Directory
  • 2+ years supporting SQL databases from an infrastructure and support perspective

Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

  • Healthcare industry and clinical informatics knowledge/expertise
  • 2+ years working with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 2.x and C-CDA
  • Familiarity with JIRA/Atlassian product suite
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent people skills with a customer service-oriented approach, and a focus on building relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information in non-technical terms
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible to meet project priorities, work under pressure and balance competing demands
  • Proven technical analytical and problem-solving skills
