We’re looking for a Chief Supply Chain Officer to join our quickly growing team of executives. This role plans and directs all aspects of FreshRealm’s direct to consumer supply chain policies, objectives and initiatives. The CSCO oversees 5 warehouses, distribution, logistics (both D2C and B2B), direct and indirect procurement, global sourcing and supply chain technology systems. Additionally this position develops and oversees supply chain operating KPIs of quality, cost and service performance.


  • Develop and execute supply chain strategy balancing global, national, regional and local supply that supports and meets company strategy and mission, company performance objectives and customer expectations. Ensure supply chain continuity and redundancy. 
  • Cross functional responsibility across the organization to drive product and supply innovation bringing best in class approaches and supply chain solutions to the organization.
  • Drive logistics solutions that optimize inbound product delivery and outbound customer facing final delivery performance.  Innovate and bring creative emerging suppliers to our portfolio that drive customer satisfaction and customer experience. 
  • Implement a strategic supply and contingency plan that ensures continued supply of products while supporting the growth of the company.
  • Drive cost transparent supply models to optimize cost value. Oversee global commodity market metrics to inform short and long term sourcing decisions.
  • Evaluate make vs buy opportunities across all ingredients to optimize company in-house production capabilities
  • Work with suppliers & operations to manage inventory levels, payments terms and JIT contracts to optimize working capital.
  • Ensure forecasting collaboration occurs to ensure the right product is available at the right time and place to support direct to consumer models
  • Manages activities related to strategic  and  tactical purchasing, material requirements planning and flow.  Oversee fundamentals of total cost of ownership evaluation for all procurement and sourcing decisions.
  • Build a supply chain organizational culture that has a high sense of urgency, commitment to value-added services, product innovation and a sense of accountability.
  • Continually improve procedures and systems to evaluate and select suppliers, analyze performance and procurement programs success. Oversee ongoing supplier KPI metrics and TTI scorecard development.
  • Deliver results/value across Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, Cost for all purchased materials and services.
  • Develop the supply chain talent pool in partnership with the people & culture team.
  • Minimum 50% travel required.


Skills and Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a complex organization and facilitate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical skills in the area of process manufacturing, preferably food products.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance and Operations functions.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and supply chain partners.
  • Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance, supply/demand forecasting and distribution execution.
  • Strong analytical, financial and P&L capabilities.
  • In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices in the areas of Sourcing Procurement, Inventory Control, Demand & Supply Planning, Warehouse/Network Optimization, Fulfillment and Logistics & Transportation.
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices and sustainability initiatives preferred, though not required.

Experience / Education

  • Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • DSD experience required
  • Supply chain, business or related field
  • Certifications: Association Supply Chain Management
  • 15+ years of progressive supervisory and management supply chain experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferably in the direct-to-consumer food industry)
