About the Role 

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Business Analyst to join our team permanently. This role offers an opportunity to develop both business analysis and technical skills through impactful, data-focused projects. As a key liaison between stakeholders and delivery teams, you will contribute to client projects, support bids, and help shape our Business Analysis Community of Practice. 

This is a primarily remote role with occasional travel to client sites and our offices in London, Sheffield, or Bristol. Security Clearance will be required, with full details provided during the interview process. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Collaboration: Act as the translator between stakeholders and the delivery team, ensuring clear communication of requirements and expectations, understanding technical constraints and managing resolution of blockers. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business needs, translating them into usable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the delivery team. 
  • Process Improvement: Map out existing (as-is) processes and propose new (to-be) processes, performing gap analyses to identify pain points and formulate solution options.  
  • Data Analysis & Recommendations: Use data modelling practices to analyse findings and provide strategic, data-driven recommendations. Produce and communicate analysis around risks, opportunities, benefits, and costs. 
  • Documentation & Communication: Create visual representations and clear documentation to support findings and recommendations, presenting them effectively to various stakeholders. 
  • Support & Delivery: Work with client staff to implement recommended changes, resolving issues proactively to facilitate successful delivery. 
  • Community & Growth: Be an active participant in the Community of Practice, collaborating with colleagues to enhance Business Analysis best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of our defined Business Analysis career pathway.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven track record of delivering successful data-focused projects  
  • Self-motivated in driving outcomes with minimum supervision in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Experience of working in an Agile project delivery team using an agile project management tool such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops or Trello. 
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues. 
  • Experience in eliciting business requirements using a range of techniques (e.g., workshops, interviews, workflow mapping etc.)  
  • Experience in developing and managing Epics, Use Cases, and User Stories, as well as creating, managing, and refining product backlogs. 
  • Knowledge of writing scenario-based acceptance criteria for user stories. 
  • Experience of problem ownership and resolution; proactively identify and analyse problems, troubleshoot root causes, develop actionable recommendations and implement solutions.  
  • Experience of defining business questions and metrics for data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) 
  • Understanding of relational database modelling, star schema/ snowflake models, ETL (Extract Transform Load).  
  • An understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their application to data projects. 
  • Awareness of Data Science, AI, and big data principles. 

Desirable Skills 

  • Relevant professional development certification, such as IIBA or BCS certifications. 
  • Creation of Business Cases, ROI evaluations or benefits management 
  • Awareness of data governance, data architecture principles and ITIL Framework 
  • Understanding of User-Centered Design and Service Design principles. 

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK.
