The Associate Director will have responsibility for helping to execute on the organization’s Strategy & Corporate Development activities. The individual will drive the evaluation of strategic opportunities (including licensing deals, partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and alliances) that fit within the overall corporate strategy and business plan. The role will focus on leading, communicating corporate development activities, negotiating business transactions, and developing and leading strategic relationships. The individual selected for this role must be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player with exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills. The Associate Director, Strategy & Corporate Development, will have frequent interactions with executive management and department heads.

You will:

  • Lead a cross functional team through all phases of a strategic transaction: evaluation, diligence, negotiation and integration
  • Build financial and valuation models for strategic opportunities
  • Lead presentation of new business cases and communicate actionable data-driven recommendations to senior leadership team
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional team members
  • Develop relationships with external companies of interest
  • Support alliance management activities (e.g., reporting requirements, contract management, issue management) as necessary
  • Lead or support other cross functional project initiatives as necessary
  • Act as a liaison to external advisors such as investment bankers, consultants and attorneys

Your background should include:

  • BS/BA from a top tier school required; Advanced degree preferred (Masters degree, JD MBA, MD or PhD in relevant field)
  • a minimum of eight years [8]+ years experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Corporate/Business Development, Corporate Strategy, or Strategic Finance
  • Financial modeling experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google suite
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through a decision process
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate across multiple functions and levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, prioritize tasks in real time, and exercise judgment in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Capable of carrying out assigned functions independently in an expeditious and thoughtful manner
  • Works with integrity and a sense of ownership
  • Excellent critical thinking skills: An ability to make quantitative and qualitative assessments
