The Associate Director, Pharma Business Development will support sourcing and execution of engagements with pharmaceutical customers. A track record of supporting research and companion diagnostics partnerships with pharmaceutical companies is required. The individual selected for this role must be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player with good communication, and analytical skills.
You will:
- Assist in building a scalable business development function to support the long-term growth strategy
- Collaborate with cross functional leaders on short- and long-term growth strategy to maximize business opportunity
- Work closely with internal stakeholders on emerging trends and industry dynamics to support development/maintenance of competitive advantage
- Cultivate pharma customer network, drawing from contacts/relationships in market to drive deal flow
- Articulate company expertise and proprietary offerings to partners and work cross functionally to develop project scopes appropriate to partners’ development objectives
- Initiate and/or negotiate partnership contracts, collaborate cross functionally to enable rapid completion of due diligence, and support efficient transition of engagement management to project teams
- Work closely with alliance management to optimize existing partnerships. Collaborate to drive, initiate and/or negotiate and close new opportunities to expand established relationships
- Collaborate cross functionally to ensure that all engagements are resourced appropriately
Your background should include:
- BS/BA required; Advanced degree preferred (JD, MBA, MD or PhD in relevant field)
- 8+ years experience in consultative sales or business development role in related field
- Understanding of oncology drug development and/or oncology diagnostics
- Good oral, written and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate across multiple functions and levels
- Ability to work as a team player, prioritize tasks in real time, and exercise judgment in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Willing to travel as needed (up to 50%)
