Position: Area Logistics Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Logistics Manager to lead and manage our team of Logistics Planners. This role is pivotal in delivering efficient planning for all aspects of Depot Transport Operations. You will work closely with Regional General Managers, Depot Managers, and Depot teams to achieve optimal route planning, increase route density, and maximize EBIT profit opportunities while maintaining high service standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.

• Collaborate with Regional operational teams to ensure route optimization and cost-effective maintenance of routes daily, weekly, and monthly, considering seasonal variations.
• Manage the inter-depot route changes through the planning team, ensuring all planned activities are feasible.
• Innovate and seek opportunities to improve all aspects of the logistics operation.
• Support the training and development of employees in various business aspects.
• Ensure financial and health and safety aspects of route optimisation are considered.

• Proficient with route planning software.
• Extensive experience in logistics/planning within a large matrix organization.
• Proven track record of meeting clearly defined service delivery KPIs.
• Demonstrable experience in successful resource management and cost control.
• In-depth knowledge of transport legislation.
• Local geographical knowledge of the South Central, South West, and South Wales areas.
• Understanding of existing and upcoming environmental and health and safety legislation.
• Familiarity with working within a time-critical service environment.
• Strong commercial background with excellent management and organizational skills.
• Good networking and people management skills.
