The Opportunity
Our Accounting team is growing and we’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join us in our mission to help people get their best sleep. Reporting to our Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions and have the opportunity to grow and learn in a dynamic start-up environment. This person must be based in the United States in the PST/PDT time zone. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.
 
What You’ll Do
·       Report to Accounting Manager and assist with monthly accounting functions
·       Respond to vendors inquiries and support Accounts Payable team; maintain all vendor and customer agreements
·       Process employee expense reimbursements in Expensify
·       Oversee the monthly corporate card reconciliation
·       Maintain Fixed assets and Depreciation schedule
·       Ensure all journal entries have proper support and department allocations
·       Support accounting team with month-end close procedures
·       Support external audit engagements, including providing supporting documentation and answering auditor inquiries
·       Support the team on any Ad hoc projects
What You’ll Bring
·       3+ years of Accounts Payable / General Ledger / Staff accounting experience
·       BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or quantitative field
·       Experience working in a tech startup environment
·       Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems including process documentation
·       Highly proficient in Excel
·       Self -starter, ability to thrive and be highly effective in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
·       High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
·       Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
·       Experience with NetSuite or other ERP system a plus
