ABOUT THE TEAM
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) on our Advisors team, you will be joining a talented group of engineers building the software to offer Bestow’s innovative, fully digital life insurance products through traditional insurance agents. We cut a process that traditionally takes agents 4-8 weeks of client and carrier management down to 10 minutes.
In your role, you will write software to test product functionality and performance. Your work will be a critical part of our continuous delivery pipeline. Do you love collaborating with product managers, engineers and designers to ensure we build high-quality software? We’d love to hear from you!
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Work with engineers and product managers to understand requirements and flesh out user stories with acceptance criteria, bringing clarity to expectations and ensuring comprehensive test coverage
- Build automation platforms and test cases to ensure the quality of our products, including browser-based UI tests (Cypress/Selenium, etc.), HTTP API testing, and performance testing (Gatling/Locust.io, etc)
- Coach engineers on ways they can ensure quality in their code, i.e. recommending improvements to unit tests during code review or suggesting performance increases for integration test suites
- Define, measure, and communicate metrics that represent our product quality, helping us to know we are focusing on the right things and continually improving
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Professional experience with web browser automation tools like Cypress or Selenium.
- Professional experience with SaaS testing products like BrowserStack and SauceLabs.
- Professional experience with build systems such as BuildKite, Gitlab, CircleCI or Jenkins.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with Cloud Hosting providers (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
- Ability to create a roadmap of test projects and lead them to completion.
- Proficient in a scripting language such as Bash, Javascript, Python or Ruby.
- Performance testing experience (Gatling, Locust.io, etc) a plus.
