A quick history of media production

Over the past 100 years, media production went through cycles of innovation that impacted the production, distribution, and consumption of media in ways that we couldn’t predict.

Things are changing quickly, technologies grow and evolve in multiple waves.

One of the ways to think about how technologies emerge is that stuff tends to begin small and slow. There is an early period where the technology isn’t quite working. It’s emerging from university/corporate labs, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be very useful or important.

But then, it reaches a point where the growth accelerates upwards. Everything starts working. It moves from the period when it was kind of a crazy idea to a period of excitement and growth. Look at the S-curve below and think of PCs, smartphones, etc.

About the Position

In this position you’ll join our growth team. We already have one person working on performance marketing; you’ll join the team and take care of performance / attribution side of the ads, while the existing team member will focus more on the creatives. You’ll report to our VP of Growth.

To give you some context: we generate a very big amount of leads every single day and the usage of product is growing super fast. On top of that, our product is one of its kind and naturally attracts a lot of interest and word of mouth.

Here’s a few concrete things you’ll be able to do:

  • Be responsible for managing our FB / Google ads
  • Help define and track our KPIs for performance marketing
  • Give input on paid creatives
  • Help define and improve our revenue funnel measurement frameworks together w/ our RevOps team

  • 3+ years of experience working in tech startups or e-commerce
  • Natural passion for discovering and playing with modern internet tools
  • Proven experience managing social paid ads with budgets of $50k+ per month
  • Proven experience managing SEM ads with budgets of $20k+ per month
  • Love for numbers and constant optimization
  • Copywriting experience is a plus
