As Ada’s Payroll Specialist, you will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Operations, and assist with the day-to-day payroll operations and full-cycle processing of employee payroll to ensure business and regulatory standards are met. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to apply best payroll practices and automate processes where possible. As Ada grows, you will be pivotal in supporting our transition into an international software company, and embark on our mission to automate all brand interactions. This role is perfect for someone who is a self-starter and looking for an opportunity to grow and own the payroll processing function.

About You

  • 2+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience using an enterprise payroll system (ADP, Workday, Ceridian preferred). 
  • Canadian and/or US payroll compliance knowledge; Payroll certification required. 
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professional manner. 
  • Ability to simplify and improve processes by leveraging technology and collaboration with cross-functional teams. 
  • Proactive, responsible, detail-minded with the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Looking for opportunities to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. 

Nice To Have

  • ADP Workforce Now experience.
  • US multi-state payroll experience.
  • Understanding of basic accounting procedures.

Outcomes

  • Accurate and timely processing of full-cycle payrolls. 
  • Support day-to-day payroll operation for the purpose of meeting compliance requirements, maintaining support for audit references, and effective payroll processing. 
  • Prepare and ensure payroll related journal entries are recorded accurately and complete in Netsuite. 
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and/or employee questions; help prevent future issues from arising.
  • Support payroll tax related remittances and filings, tax form balancing, year-end preparation, and audits.
