Pay range: $100k – $120k base + benefits/annual bonus

The Role

As the Healthcare Analytics Consultant, you will serve as the ministry’s lead in development of analytics not limited to financial, contact center, healthcare, compensation, and performance. You will be leading the design and development of projects, while producing quality, timely analytics for the ministry that is essential for strategic decision-making. This role will demonstrate strong understanding and capability in modeling and applying statistical methodologies for various analysis and guide the ministry in continued implementation of best practices in the healthcare industry standard reporting. Finally, this position supports the department leadership of the department in the leading and guiding of other team members.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Independently analyzes and interprets healthcare and non-healthcare data, identifying new metrics for measuring results as well as monitoring current metrics for trends
  • Ensures that all analysis is actionable for business process owners, enabling leaders of key areas to build, implement, and identify solutions to address business performance gaps
  • Contributes to machine-learning and predictive modeling for various analysis not limited to healthcare cost, care management, sales and marketing, and others as applicable
  • Works closely with other senior-level staff in the Business Analytics department on all advanced-level analytics, responsible for delivering accurate results that are actionable for senior leadership of the ministry
  • Leads the design consultation, and develops and summarizes conclusions gained from analyzing data using statistical and visualization tools like Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, SSRS, Salesforce, and others
  • Develops forecasting models to impact the financial decisions and business operations of the ministry
  • Develops measurements and reporting of participation in population health, medical management and quality programs; and develops strategies to grow and improve results, as appropriate
  • Identifies and addresses expected and unforeseen data issues to ensure the accuracy of analytics, ensuring any resulting business decisions are made from accurate findings
  • Works with the data owners/stewards to improve data quality where possible
  • Provides department leadership with training and the development of the Business Analytics department
  • Effectively communicates and presents all relevant findings to senior level leadership
  • Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contributes to the development of new ideas and principles
  • Contributes to the exercise and expression of the Ministry’s Christian beliefs
  • All other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare concepts including, but not limited to, cost containment and forecasting
  • Strong proficiency and knowledge in SQL, Tableau, SSRS, and Salesforce
  • Strong understanding of modern business analytics technology
  • Advanced knowledge working with large datasets from multiple, seemingly unrelated sources
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to effectively and accurately present analytical findings using a variety of tools to senior management
  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex analysis and make recommendations based on statistical inferences
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead in projects with team members
  • Ability to extract internal customer’s requirements while assessing if the requested criteria will lead to expected outcome
  • Ability to complete projects on or ahead of schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to think and work independently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, information science, engineering, data science, or relevant field
  • 4+ years’ relevant working experience
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Healthcare data is required
  • Experience with statistical modeling tool(s) required
