The Role: 

The FP&A Analyst works as part of the corporate finance team within JD Power. Responsibilities include assisting with monthly forecasting, supporting MD&A for assigned products & general analytical support. Key success factors for this position include the ability to organize & execute; strong problem-solving skills; comfort with spreadsheet and database software; sense of ownership within assigned domain; strong people and communication skills. The ideal FP&A Analyst is a fast learner and logical thinker with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy while meeting tight timelines. This position is a shared support function for the FP&A team and will be the primary lead for revenue and Salesforce pipeline reporting and Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) contract reporting


  • Salesforce pipeline reporting for financial analysis
  • Weekly creation and publication of business unit-focused Salesforce pipeline reporting for in-year revenue attainment
  • Weekly creation and publication of sale-focused Salesforce pipeline reporting of bookings performance
  • Monthly reporting and reconciliation of SIP-eligible contracts closed in the month
  • Monthly reconciliation of transaction-level NetSuite & OpenAir revenue recognition to business unit revenue summaries
  • Creation and maintenance of revenue-generating projects in OpenAir
  • Support for Sales functions budget & forecast
  • Support for the FP&A Managers for all revenue and pipeline-related issues


  • University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years FP&A or Financial Analysis experience is preferred
  • Certification in Management Accounting or Financial Analysis an asset, but not required
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Expertise in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.) required
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce & Coupa preferred, but not required
  • Experience extracting, transforming & loading data sets into models an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior levels of management required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
  • General familiarity with finance and accounting principles
  • Knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and operations
  • Ability to set and manage priorities within required deadlines
  • Self-motivated, directed, and detail-oriented
  • Experience with analysis, metrics & reporting is required

The Career Opportunity: Growth opportunities are significant, both within the finance teams as well as across the organization. This position plays a key role for the FP&A team supporting revenue analysis for all areas of the business and reports directly to the head of the FP&A team.  This person will be a key partner for the Sales organization allowing them to understand their performance against objectives, and will also play an important role in standardized and timely reporting of in-year revenue performance to multiple Executive Committee (EC) members.

The role of the FP&A Analyst is to assist with the preparation, publication & interpretation of all FP&A deliverables. This makes the FP&A Analyst role a critical contributor to the FP&A team. The FP&A Analyst will work under the guidance of the FP&A Manager with some input from the FP&A Director as the success of all three positions is very much interdependent.
