How can you make an impact? 
The Executive Editor will assume direct oversight of the external editorial board for Harrison’s, and set a strategic course for future management of the print core and for the execution of existing and new digital content initiatives worldwide. The products to be managed within this position include Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, Harrison’s Online, Harrison’s Manual of Medicine, the Harrison’s Self Assessment and Board Review, Harrison’s Podclass, and our new mobile-first digital initiative Harrison’s Bedside Learning.
 
What you will be doing: 
·  Set strategic course for the print and digital components of the Harrison’s enterprise
· Assume direct oversight and responsibility for Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, the Harrison’s Manual, Harrison’s Podclass, and the Harrison’s Self Assessment and Board Review
· Work with the external Harrison’s editorial board and market contacts to identify the future shape of HPIM and to identify new product extensions for the brand
· Manage a new position to be hired for the operational execution of Harrison’s Bedside Learning, a new and major digital initiative
· Work closely with MHP domestic and international sales and marketing teams and the MHP User Services team in support of Harrison’s growth and new opportunities
  
We’re looking for someone with:
· BS/BA required; MS or MA or MD a positive
· 7 Years+ experience in editorial content development and acquisitions, preferably in medical publishing
· Proven experience in digital content development and product management
· Proven experience managing high profile author teams
· Proven experience in publishing for global markets
· Knowledge of digital platforms and digital product development and maintenance.
· Strong analysis, product development, management, and communication skills.
· Demonstrated successful business negotiation and partner management skills.
· Demonstrated contract negotiation and implementation skills.
· Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage collaboration across internal departments.
· Outstanding writing and presentation skills.
