As an Enterprise Sales Development Representative, you’ll join an agile sales team with the opportunity to learn first-hand how startups accelerate growth through our most important channels and work with Balto’s Director of Sales Development to learn new sales strategies, improve your professional skillset, and book meetings!

Balto's Real-Time Guidance understands phone conversations and tells people what to say, live in their conversations. In 2018, Balto guided fewer than 1 million conversations; today, Balto has guided over 50 million conversations (we celebrated with cake). By the end of this year, Balto will guide over 200M conversations. 

Real-time Guidance is a brand new product category, and Balto is leading the pack. We’re making sure that humans understand each other – the opportunities are endless.

Balto's customers, including name-brand retailers and Fortune 500s, use Balto's real-time guidance technology to scale “perfect” to thousands of sales and service agents with the push of a button and get immediate insight into what's working on their phone calls and what's not.

Here’s What an Enterprise Sales Development Representative Does

Your mission is to help us drive our goal of building the largest Artificial Intelligence company in the Midwest by creating opportunities with executives so that they come to understand the value of our platform. This is done by reaching out to director-level, VP-level, and C-level executives and establishing a meeting with them to jump-start their journey through our sales process.

You will learn to communicate directly with those director-level, VP-level, and C-level executives and strategically pique their interest in Balto. This is done through a variety of mediums including cold calling, personalized emails, LinkedIn messaging, and whatever else your creativity comes up with!

The Enterprise SDR role is a great fit for a young professional that has seen success in their first sales position and has aspirations to take the next step in their career. You have a hunger for success that will drive you to capture the attention of what will be our larger Enterprise clients and the confidence to go along with it.

If you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, working as a team player, collaborating cross-functionally with multiple teams, and winning as a team – we'd love to connect! 

What kind of responsibilities might you take on?

  • Book meetings with larger prospects and take an active role in facilitating the next step in the sales process.
  • Compose and send targeted email campaigns to a large number of prospects. 
  • Send personalized messages via email, LinkedIn, and other mediums. 
  • Work on various projects with colleagues at all levels in an atmosphere of teamwork and open communication.
  • Take part in continuous training sessions with your manager and team members to hone sales and communication skills.

Skills & Requirements

  • Team player with an emphasis on collaboration. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of high performance sales experience. 
  • Highly organized mindset.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, self-driven, “no excuses” attitude.
  • Curious, creative, and tenacious with the ability to think outside the box to resolve problems.
  • Coachability and a strong desire to become excellent in technology sales.

Is Balto named after that Cartoon Dog?

Well, kind of – that cartoon dog was actually named after a real dog. Balto successfully guided his pack through a harrowing journey across Nome, Alaska, in 1925 to deliver medicine to the ice-locked town. We liked the metaphor: our technology guides people to be successful throughout their conversations, scouting ahead and providing helpful support. Like in 1925, a human is still in charge, but humans (and dogs) are always better off with a companion. 

Fun Fact: After his journey, Balto was recognized as a hero with a commemorative statue in Central Park. We’ve visited, and he looked like this.
