About the Role

As an experienced Credentialing Specialist reporting to our Director of Credentialing and Payor Contracting, you will be working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration. This role is a remote full time position.

  • Maintain and update insurance credentialing and CAQH System.
  • Maintain credentialing matrix for all providers and markets.
  • Provide credentialing services for new physicians or new healthcare providers that join the Practice along with new insurance contracts.
  • Obtain necessary licensure and privileges from physicians.
  • Set up the NPI number required for all physicians.
  • Maintains Credentialing rosters for the physicians within the practice. Performs external research and conducts verification of all applicant licensure, malpractice, education and training.
  • Credentialing/Re-credentialing with insurance companies and hospitals.
  • Check insurance websites for accurate listings.
  • Performs complex and confidential administrative functions including developing and typing written correspondence. Responds to routine external correspondence. Types memos, and other department forms and documents.
  • Handle confidential and non-routine information and maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping all patient, Company, and Practice information confidential.
  • Work independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring and ongoing projects at the request of the Director of RCM, which may include: updating Excel spreadsheets or other systems, and disseminating information.
  • Reliability- it is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Who You Are

  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. 
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. 
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access,) 
  • Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • High school diploma or GED supplemented with course work in typing, business machine and personal computer operations;
  • 2 year or more years of credentialing experience, secretarial/administrative experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must maintain good working knowledge of credentialing & state licensure requirements.  
  • Maintains professional and technical reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
