Are you a teacher with excellent maths knowledge looking for an exciting new challenge?

We’re looking for a creative individual to join Twinkl’s growing teaching team in an exciting period of international growth. You’ll be working closely alongside our existing maths team who will be identifying opportunities to create new resources from search terms. The aim is to react quickly to things that our customers are looking for on the Twinkl website and create resources to suit their needs.

This role is primarily focused on volume and response time so it will suit someone who is passionate about business growth and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Every day you will work on creating quick resources to fill content gaps on the website, within a set target time. The resources will be produced for a variety of markets and your work has the potential to reach hundreds of thousands of teachers to help them to manage their time and improve their work-life balance.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their expertise with others in their team. It would suit someone who enjoys a balance of administrative tasks in addition to working creatively. This position can take place at Sheffield HQ or it can be a work-from-home position. The role requires you to be available Monday to Friday with expectation of availability between our core office hours 10am-2pm, the remaining hours can be worked flexibly within reason. During your first 2 weeks, you will need to be available for training, roughly, 9am-5:30pm.

How you’ll spend your day:

  • Every day you will work on creating quick resources to fill content gaps on the website to support our maths team.
  • Attend regular meetings with the team to review data and work from the list of search terms for resources that can be made quickly to fill the Twinkl website.
  • Check a broad range of new resources for spelling, punctuation, grammar, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy;
  • Sensitively offer feedback, advice and support to your colleagues where needed;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the Product Owner and designers that you collaborate with;

Curate existing content on site to ensure that it is up to date and meets customers’ needs. This involves administrative duties, such as adding keywords to existing resources to improve search results.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • have completed primary qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent;
  • have two years of full classroom teaching experience after QTS is complete, with experience in planning and delivering maths content;
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • have detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the Key Stages 1 and 2 National Curriculum maths content in England;
  • be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and GSuite (Docs, Slides etc.);
  • understand the teaching community in England, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  • have a drive for continuous professional development;
  • need a reliable computer or laptop with a fast broadband speed (if remote) – you will be responsible for maintenance / repairs etc.

In this role, you will learn:

  • how to check content and provide feedback for our team;
  • how to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests;
  • how to create new products, from ideation stage to publication.

You’ll be working with:

  • The Product Owner who will be identifying the search terms that need supporting resources on the Twinkl website.
  • Our amazing in-house design team. Collaborating daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl are known for.

  • Has taught maths across the key stage(s) required for the role you would like to be considered for;
  • Has detailed knowledge of the content of the maths 2014 National Curriculum;
  • Has led maths as a subject leader or co-ordinator;
