The Community team at Instructure is responsible for writing the documentation (how-to guides) and release notes, and leveraging those resources in order to construct the Content for the Impact Mastery Library. The team also manages the Community to organize resources alongside active question and answer forums, idea conversation forums, public roadmap information, product blogs, user-hosted events, interest groups, partner information, and more—all to empower people to find information, opportunities, and connections that facilitate success with Instructure products!
We are looking for a Documentation Specialist to author community resources and engage in managing the community overall.
The Documentation Specialist reports to the Community Team Lead.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Content creation and curationProject QA reviews (e.g. google doc draft reviews, screensteps PDF reviews, video feedback)
  • Maintain and update end-user multimedia and web-based documentation for one or more Instructure products
  • Produce content that conforms to the company documentation and style guide standards, including user interface terminology, to ensure consistency across all products
  • Follow documentation project plans, priorities, and timelines
  • Review, investigate, and implement comment feedback from customers as needed for documentation improvement
  • Identify and research documentation needs as noted from both external and internal channels

Skills & Experience

  • BA degree, 1–2 years preferred experience
  • Community experience
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective leadership, analytical, and strategic skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with and through others as well as independently
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Forward-thinking attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
