We are now hiring a Clinical Trials Therapist to provide specialist assessment and treatment on a series of clinical studies and projects.

Reporting to: UK Clinical Lead

Job Type: Full time or Part-time

Responsibilities:

  • To formulate and implement plans for the treatment of patients’ emotional and mental health difficulties, based on the appropriate conceptual framework of the patient’s reported difficulties.
  • To plan and prioritise own workload, while working within the organisational guidelines.
  • To adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of patient contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week to ensure that treatment remains accessible and convenient.
  • To attend regular clinical supervision to maintain skills as a reflective practitioner, develop and focus practice, and share ideas about therapeutic work.
  • To ensure that clinical practice is compliant with NICE guidelines and CBT protocols.
  • To use analytical and clinical judgment skills and be responsible for taking clinical management decisions in clinical issues

Requirements

Essential:

  • Professional postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • BABCP Accredited.
  • A high level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy.
  • Additional training/experience in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
  • Ability to provide some evening and/or weekend appointments.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working alone as well as part of a team.
  • Flexible attitude and approach to work setting including evening work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to keep up to date records in agreed and appropriate formats.
  • Ability to disseminate clinical information appropriately
  • Knowledge in practice and ability to follow the BABCP Code of Conduct and other relevant professional body guidelines.

Desirable:

  • Long Term Conditions training and/or relevant work experience.
  • Additional advanced training in Clinical Supervision or other therapeutic interventions applied to a primary care service.
  • Experience of delivering typed therapy.
