CTI is seeking a Tactical Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. As a Tactical Comms SME you will be responsible for providing Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET), Tactical Data Link (TDL), Tactical Radio, Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) and TAK Server expertise for a variety of CTI programs supporting the DoD, International partners, and civilian agencies.

Additionally, you’ll provide timely and efficient training and support to end users through customized curriculums, capture key feedback/issues with existing products, and feedback delivery to the respective developers for attention. Lastly, you’ll provide operational testing of hardware/software prior to customer engagement, provide alpha and bravo QA testing and feedback, user manual review, follow-on support/maintenance with all customers, and continual program interoperability for business development.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network hardware.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining various types of military tactical radio systems, video teleconferencing and tactical antennas.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to define technical requirements and ensure solutions meet high standards of reliability and security.
  • Ability to establish and maintain communication and technical infrastructure in Joint Operations Center (JOC) facilities, or facilities utilized during execution of exercises.
  • Experience deploying and configuring TAK Servers, for integration of remote datalinks and federation with other distributed TAK Servers.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in the TAK ecosystem, including software updates and community-driven enhancements.
  •  Provide expert guidance on the integration of TAK servers with existing systems and networks.
  • Support and manage other tactical communications requirements as necessary.

This position is remote but will require up to 30% travel to CONUS and OCONUS

Requirements

Necessary skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of tactical communications experience supporting special operation forces.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications connectivity with communication platforms: KU/X/KA Band Satellite systems, UHF/VHF radio, data systems, mobile ad-hoc networking, mesh networking systems, tactical SATCOM, LMR systems, phone systems and COP applications.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience coordinating with training audiences and developing a realistic scenario to facilitate their training objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with administrating hardware, installation, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Real world experience with ATAK and WINTAK configuration for tactical operations.
  • Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Beneficial skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • Security+,, GSLC, GSEC, or other DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification in the Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II categories
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional-CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP)
